Dear Kelso C-7 School Families,
We hope this message finds you well. Due to an increase in reported illnesses, including Type A flu, our school district will be closing on Tuesday, January 28, and Wednesday, January 29. This decision was made to prioritize the health and safety of our students, staff, and community while allowing time for comprehensive cleaning and sanitization of our facilities.
To ensure continuity of learning during this time, students will be sent home with Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) packets today. These packets are designed to count toward attendance, so it is important that students complete the assigned work. Some classes may have digital assignments as age appropriate. To support families, teachers have established classroom office hours to answer any questions you or your student may have regarding the packets. Teachers will be available from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm via email and classroom platforms. We encourage parents and guardians to review the materials tonight to identify any areas where support may be needed. Please do not hesitate to reach out during these times if you have any concerns or questions.
We understand that this closure may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our community healthy. Our thoughts are with all those who are currently unwell, and we wish everyone a speedy recovery.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming students back to a safe and healthy learning environment soon.
Best regards,
Dr. Kim Burger, Superintendent
