NO SCHOOL THURSDAY, 2/24 + AMI DAY
There will be in person learning on Thursday, 2/24/22 due to icy roads conditions. The District utilize an AMI day (alternative methods of instruction/virtual learning).
Students were sent home with learning packets today to utilize in the case of a closure. Please refer to your child's classroom learning platform for more specifics. Each teacher will have office hours from 8 am - 12 pm and 5 -6 pm in the case your child needs additional support. We are glad to help.
All work will be due the first day back of student attendance. Incomplete work will result as an unexcused absence for that class period.
Best wishes to all of our school family to stay safe and warm through this weather event.

Dear Kelso C-7 Family,
Our team is prepared for inclement weather that would force us to close school and transition to AMI/virtual learning. We want this be as easy as possible. We have prepared paper packets for our students and will offer office hours for support and questions.
Paper packets have gone home with your child today in the case of a school closure for the following two days. IF there is a school closure, messages will be communicated via the district Facebook page, school app, and KFVS12 television station. More specific class related instructions will be delivered by means of your child’s classroom learning platform. In the case of school being in session, please return the AMI/learning packet back to school with your child.
I want to stress that your child’s attendance is based on their completion of the assigned work. Any incomplete work will result as an unexcused absence for that hour.
As always, if you have any questions or we can help, please let us know. We are here to help.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Burger, Superintendent

Good morning all,
We have had a bit of an exciting morning! One of our buses did find a pretty big patch of ice this morning and get to a point where it could not get enough traction to move forward-it was stuck. The bus never left the pavement, but did need the assistance of a tow truck. All students made it to school safely with the help of some quick acting parents and Mr. Ted rerouting his bus route.
Huge shout outs to Denise and Tony Essner, Julie Heisserer, Kevin Kieffer, and Mr. Bollinger. All came to the aide of our bus and students to make sure kids were off of the bus, take kids to school, helped to salt roads, offered to use tractors, and just worked to make situation safe and the best it can be considering. Just another example of our BIG hearted community!
We wanted to let our families know that all involved are safe and share a big thank you!!

Buses are running late. If can take them it would be appreciate it, otherwise they will be there soon

Kelso C-7 WILL BE IN SESSION 2/8

Happy School Counselor Week to our own “Counselor Creech!” Psych examiner, classroom instruction, small group coach, personal sessions-this lady does it all! Our school is so lucky to have one of the best counselors around! Thank you Mrs. Creech for all you do! 💙💙💙

NO SCHOOL MONDAY 2/7/22
We have had a lot ice melt, but our secondary roads continue to be unsafe to transport students.
As a result, Kelso C7 will not be in session on Monday, February 7th. We will use a weather day, so there will be no formal alternate learning tomorrow or have to make the day up later. We do encourage our students to continue reading and taking AR tests, logging on to IReady, RocketMath, and other classroom learning resources to continue learning.
Parents thank you so much for your understanding. We know that this is tough for working families. We expect the remainder of the roads will melt enough with higher temps tomorrow that school should resume as normal on Tuesday.
See you all soon!

Kelso C-7 School: Wednesday Update, 2/2/22
Afterschool Care: Friendly reminder there is NO after school care today due to incoming inclement weather.
In the case of inclement weather and a school closure, our teachers are prepared to transition into the district’s AMI plan. Our area is predicated to receive more ice than snow, which could result in loss of power. We wanted to make the off-site learning as easy as possible for families no matter the conditions. All students will be coming home with paper packets for at least two days of learning. There will be no device checkout. Teachers will be available for office hours from 8 am to 12 pm and 5 to 6 pm on days that are closed. This allows our school families to have opportunities for learning support, while allowing our employees to help their own families that are learning as well. Classroom teachers will share more in-depth instructions for learning and communication for each class. Please return all completed work the next day of attendance. Incomplete work will result in the student being marked absent for the AMI days.
If school remains open, please send all packets back to school on Thursday. Thanks for all your continued help and support. We hope that all of our families stay warm and safe!
